Here is the story. I finally feel like I have some energy back and he is resting now, so I will take some time to finally let you know the details. Wednesday, October 7, was my induction day. My doctor wanted to induce because he was measuring about 8lbs 11oz at 36 weeks. I had a doctor's appointment to get this balloon foley inserted in my cervix to hopefully cause more dilation and or put me into natural labor, I was at about 1cm by this point, not much happening. Well didn't know what to expect from this but I started to feel stronger contractions. Jeanna drove me home, just in case something happened. I hung out at Jeanna's house for the afternoon and had lunch. If I didn't go into labor, then I would meet my doctor at 8:00 pm at the hospital to hopefully get things rolling (Which is my doctor's name, Dr. Rolling, ok just being silly). Well 7:30 arrives and Jared and I are getting things ready to leave for the hospital and the hospital calls and tells me they don't have any available delivery rooms, I guess that is what you get when you are going to be induced, pushed back unless I go into labor. By this point, the contractions are getting stronger, but bearable.
The hospital calls at about at about 9:45 and says there is a room available and to be there about 10:30. So we check in the hospital, I get all the paperwork filled out and I am strapped to the monitors to check my contractions and the baby's heartbeat. I get my wonderful IV and I am on ice chips for the rest of the night. Pitocin is in my IV, but at a slow drip. No real crazy painful contractions all night and into the morning (which we thought we would have a baby by Thursday morning). Nurses come and check me, I am about 3 cm by 2 in the morning. Still not much happening. They increase my pitocin, now to about 4cm. So I am on ice chips and IV and doesn't look like this baby wants to come out. My doctor checks in on my, and is just hoping this baby comes on his own. It is now 1 in the afternoon on Thursday, no signs of labor, so my doctor orders the nurses to break my water to start the process. I chose to get an epidural, which helped ease the pain, but the contractions still were not that strong. Anyway nurses come to check on me, they say I am dilated to about 7cm, almost 8cm now, so Jared and I are getting so excited.
It is now 8pm and nurses shifts change, this night nurse checks on me and finds out I am only about 5cm maybe 6cm, just to be nice. She says the words that I didn't want to hear. My doctor and I did discuss the possibility, but no one really wants to hear it if they were planning on a natural delivery. She said C-section, my heart broke. I don't know why, but we were all extremely emotional. I guess after being in the hospital for almost 24 hours and then finding out you have to have a C-section, was not my plan. Many tears were shed, my doctor reassured me everything would be fine. They had another C-section before me, so I had to wait until about 9:15.
The C-section went fine, the doctors and nurses were all calling out how big our baby was going to be. They were all within 7-8lbs, my doctor and I called out the largest 8lbs. 14oz, like me. Well we were all wrong. With a lot of pressure on my belly and pulling and tugging to get him out, he weighed 9lbs. 7oz. He wasn't crying tons, so they took him to try to get him where he is supposed to be. He did fine on all his baby test. So we have a healthy baby boy who loves to eat, that is what I do all day, love him and feed him. Here are a couple pictures from the fun time at the hospital and Nixon Jared Waite at one week and 2 days old.

His battle wound from the C-section.

His cousin Ainsley giving him kisses. She did this all on her own and it was the first thing she did when she saw him. She still does it
every time, so it wasn't a one time deal. They really do know each other, better than we know them.

More to come of this little man!
